What is an Artrovert?

Artrovert worked like this; I would leave an art piece in some public place with an attached note. The note encouraged the finder to take the art piece home, visit my web page, and hopefully pay for the thing.

The note also encouraged finders to move the art to other locations, take photos, and e-mail me all about it.

I was hoping to post all kinds of wacky stories and photos on the web, but it just didn't pan out.

I guess Artrovert was really just an attempt to sell a few paintings and get some notoriety.

I left several works in various locations throughout the LA area and even one in Kansas City. But after awhile it grew hard to leave the painting knowing full well I would never see or hear anything about them again. :(

Artrovert was not the success I had hoped for, but lately I have been getting the urge to once again start littering the planet with my junk. We'll see...

About 30 artroverts were deposited in various places during the spring and summer of 97, below is a sampling of some of these artroverts. Click image to get more info.

Artrovert is Back!

Yes it is true, artrovert has been resurrected by Valery Milovic. Valery is a very cool artist who has decided to try and get artrovert off the ground once again. She has started a whole artrovertism movement. For all the info, check out her artrovertism page.

I was recently introduced to artist David Gerbstadt the undisputed king of art leaving. This guy has left over 2000 pieces worldwide since 1994. Check out his web site for all the details.
